How to use custom nameservers Print

  • 28

You can use custom nameservers by following these steps;

There are two ways to do this & both will be mentioned in this article. Please also note that if the IPs change, your custom nameservers won't automatically change but the ones we provide will.

  1. Log into your domain registrar's account.
  2. Go to "Advanced DNS" (This can be different depending on the registrar).
  3. Click on "Register Nameserver".
  4. Enter the IP and whatever you want to call the nameservers.
  5. If you don't know our nameservers IPs, you can ping them by running "ping nameserver.domain.tld" in console.
  6. After that is done, your nameservers should be working & if not, wait for them to propagate. (You can use this tool to check if they propagated or not)
  7. You should be done after the DNS propagation process.

That's the first way you can login, here's the second way on how to login;

  1. Log into your DNS manager.
  2. Add an "A" record pointing to the nameservers IP with the sub domain you'd like to refer to as the nameserver. ( Without proxying if using Cloudflare)
  3. Wait for DNS propagation, you can use this tool to check if they completed the propagation process or not.
  4. Once the DNS propagation process is done, your nameservers should be working!
